Dear Bearcat Community,
I hope this message finds all of you safe and well. I’d like to share some brief notes with you, along with our plan for graduation, which you can find below.
Graduation Plan
This morning, Upper School Director Kent Martin emailed seniors and their families with our plan for graduation. We will hold a non-traditional, in-person graduation ceremony (with appropriate social distancing) on our turf field on Thursday, May 28, at 6:30 pm.
After asking for feedback from our seniors, both through surveys and online town hall meetings, this option emerged as the clear preference of the class of 2020. We are thrilled to be able to hold a graduation ceremony that will honor our seniors and celebrate the end of their time as KCD students. The ceremony will be live-streamed, and we will share that link with you so that you can watch if you would like to.
We developed this plan in consultation with our local health department. They are allowing us to proceed provided that we ensure proper social distancing. By holding this program outside on the turf field, we are able to safely hold this in-person ceremony while meeting state health and safety guidelines.
